October sales of GM’s passenger car joint venture in China reached 100,833 units, breaking the all-time monthly record just set in September. For the first ten months, the company sold 843,009 cars, up 54% year-on-year.
Buick accounted for more half of the October sales, delivering 54,490 units or 36% more than a year ago. Sales of Excelle stayed above 20,000 units, Excelle GT (a separate model from Excelle) at 8,486 units, Regal and LaCrosse combined at over 16,000 units.
Sales of Chevrolet jumped 60% from October 2009 to 44,630 units, with 17,798 Cruzes and 16,396 Sails delivered. For the first ten months, 98,432 cars were sold bearing the bow tie emblem.
Chinese consumers bought 1,716 imported and locally built Cadillacs last month, 308% more than October 2009.
