Jianghuai Auto Co., Ltd (JAC) says it prepares to deliver 2,000 units of the all-electric Tojoy (J3, Tongyue) subcompact this year, as the first batch of 585 orders are currently being filled.
Through a government-sponsored program, the Tojoy EV was released last month when 60 units of it were handed over to employees of a power investment company in Hefei, Anhui, the hometown of JAC. The local government has promised subsidies and infrastructure support to all of the 585 purchases. To make itself EV friendly, Hefei is building hundreds of charging posts.
Tojoy EV carries a lithium-ion battery pack of 50Ah, weighing 220kg. Its electric motor can put out a maximum of 27kW of power and 200Nm of torque, propelling the car to a top speed of 95km/h. The range limit is 150km.

After incentives and subsidies, Tojoy EV costs 65,000 Yuan, compared with the 49,800 Yuan-62,800 Yuan price range of a conventional Tojoy sedan.
