SAIC Motor released today a group of images of the MG Icon concept, a sports car to premiere at 2012 Beijing Auto Show. The MG Icon is a compact SUV/crossover built on SAIC’s global ZP platform (which also gives rise to MG3). Its retro style is said to be inspired by the popular sports models of MG MGA (first introduced in 1955) and MGB (first introduced in 1962). Traces of MG-TF and MG-PA from the 1930s and 40s can also be found on the interior design of the two-door four-seater.
