A month after the Eado compact hit the market, Changan debuts an all-new mid-size sedan, the Raeton, previously known by its codename CD101. Like Geely’s emgrand EC8, Changan Raeton is said to be modeled upon the sixth generation Toyota Camry (which is currently sold alongside the seventh generation in China as "Camry Classical").
Sitting on a 2800mm wheelbase, Raeton is 4920mm long, 1825mm wide, and 1500mm tall. Three powertrain options will be provided: 2.0L + 6 MT, 2.0L + 6AT, and 1.8T + 6AT. The turbo-charged 1.8 liter can develop up to 130kW of power at 5000 – 5500rpm and 240Nm of torque at 1850- 4800rpm. It features front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent suspensions.
Changan Raeton is expected to arrive in showrooms towards the end of this year with a 100,000 – 160,000 Yuan price range.
