Auto.163.com recently publicized three new spy shots of the Qoros compact sedan, exposing for the first time the car’s interior. What we see is a well-organized dashboard with few design surprises. The center console has a very straightforward layout, with air outlets occupying the top level, infotainment panel (including the DVD/GPS display) in the middle, and air conditioner controls (including heated seats button) below. The absence of control buttons on the steering wheel clearly indicates the dashboard is an unfinished product. We expect quite a few functional and decorative details to be added later.
The test car is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which, according to previous reports, comes from Germany’s Getrag. The other transmission option, not shown in the spy shots, is said to be a 6 DCT, also from Getrag. Other features revealed include ESP and engine start-stop system.
Qoros Auto, a joint venture between Chery Auto and Israel Corporation, has been testing the car since October 2011, and aims to launch it in 2013. The compact sedan will be followed by a hatchback, SUV, and then an electrical model.
