Hongqi, the luxury brand of FAW Cars, brings four models to the Beijing auto show: H7, H7 PHEV, L7, and L9. Targeting high-level government officials, the H7 executive sedan (previously called C131) will be the first to hit the market. With a projected price range of 260,000 – 450,000 Yuan, it is to arrive in showrooms before the year-end and become the most upscale car consumers can buy from any of China’s local brands.
FAW said it would spend over 10 billion Yuan in the remaining of the 12th Five-Year period (2011-2015) to develop the Hongqi H and L lineups, which would cover C-, D-, E-class sedans and include two SUV models. The H and L models will feature FAW-made V6, V8, V12 as well as turbo-charged inline 4-cyliner engines.
