Dongfeng Honda Releases Elysion MPV, Priced above Odyssey
June 9th, 2012 | Posted in Dongfeng | Honda | New CarsThe Elysion MPV from Dongfeng Honda hit the market in three 2.4 versions on June 7, the opening day of the 2012 Shenzhen auto show. With a price range of 283,800 — 319,800 Yuan (US$44,642 – 50,304), it is placed above the Odyssey built by the other Honda joint venture in China, GAC Honda, which sells for 229,800 – 282,800 Yuan. While Odyssey targets mainly families, Elysion is marketed here as a stylish people-mover for businesses.

Sharing a platform with Accord, Dongfeng Honda Elysion sits on a 2900mm wheelbase, compared with the 2830mm on the current Odyssey, and is 4935mm long, 1845mm wide, and 1805mm high. It has seven seats and five doors, including two anti-pinch sliding ones on both sides.
Only one powertrain option is provided: a 2.4 i-VTEC K24Z5 mated to a 5-speed auto transmission. The same combination can be found on Dongfeng Honda Spirior. The 2.4L engine can develop 133kW of power at 6800rpm and 202Nm of torque at 2500-5000 rpm.
Elysion’s main rival in China is Buick GL8 from Shanghai GM.
