Chinese Passenger Car Sales Rose 6.5% in the First Half of 2012 to 7.6 Million
July 11th, 2012 | Posted in SalesData from China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) show that automakers in China delivered 7,594,592 passenger cars (sedans/hatchbacks, MPVs, SUV/Crossovers, microvans) in the first six months of this year, 6.5% more than the same period a year ago. The figure includes 7,009,117 domestic sales (up 5.6% on year).
All major sectors except the microvan saw growth. Sedan/hatchback deliveries increased 5.3% on year to 5,227,741, MPV up 3.4% to 267,189, SUV up 28.1% to 959,446, microvan down 1.8% to 1,140,216.
In June, the passenger car market expanded 15.3% from a year earlier to 1,275,235. Below are the deliveries (including exports) of the 10 largest passenger car makers in this month.
