Fengxing Auto, part of Dongfeng’s operation in Liuzhou, Guangxi, plans to release a bigger, more luxurious MPV than the current Lingzhi before the year end. With the development codename "CM7," the new Fengxing MPV will have a price range of 160,000-200,000 Yuan and take aim at JAC Refine 2, Shanghai-GM Buick GL8, and GAC-Honda Elysion.
While likely to join the Lingzhi series, the CM7 is derived from a different platform. According to some, it is basically an imitator of Hyundai H-1 (Starex), although it resembles Toyota Alphard in the front grille and headlights.
The 3200mm wheelbase is 200mm longer than that of the current Lingzhi. The overall vehicle body is 5150mm long, 1920mm wide, and 1925mm high. The CM7 employs MacPherson struts for front suspension and leaf springs in the rear. For powertrain, it will get a 2.4 liter (4G69S4N) from Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi Engine. Rated 121kw/5500rpm and 215N·m/4000rpm, it outperforms the current 2.4 4G69 on Lingzhi.
