Changhe-Suzuki Releases Beidouxing X5, the Latest Chinese Version of Wagon R
October 26th, 2012 | Posted in Changhe | New Cars | SuzukiThe joint venture of Changhe and Suzuki announced the pricing for the latest variant of the Wagon R, Beidouxing X5. Available in two versions, luxury and premium, the five-seater van-like hatchback sells for 53,900 Yuan (US$8,618) and 55,900 Yuan.
Growing longer and wider than the previous version, the Beidouxing e+, which will remain on the new car market, the X5 has a 2485mm wheelbase and weighs 940kg without loads. Often used in China as a goods carrier, it has a cargo volume of 890L, which is expanded to 1690L when the back seats are folded down.
Only one powertrain is provided, consisting of a 70kW 1.4 liter (K14B-D) and a 5-speed manual gearbox. Running on 13-inch tires, the X5 achieves a low combined fuel economy of 5.3L per 100km.
The low-cost car comes standard with ABS, CD player, power windows, child-proof door locks, and "follow-me-home" lights.
