The Mengshi (also called Dongfeng EQ2050/2058, Dongfeng Hanma, Dongfeng Humvee, Dongfeng Hummer) is a range of Humvee-inspired vehicles built by Dongfeng Motor (DFM) mainly for the Chinese military. On August 15, 2002, Dongfeng Off-road Vehicle Co., Ltd. was founded with a mission to develop Chinese versions of the Humvee. The company in 2004 launched its first product, a "Dongfeng Mengshi" codenamed EQ2050. Two years later a civilian version of the "Mengshi"–which means "fierce warrior"–was unveiled, called "Dongfeng Hanma" and bearing the codename "EQ2058."

Before 2008 the Mengshi/Hanma ran on imported gears, sharing the suspension system, gearbox (4L80E AT), and engine (RPO-L65, a turbocharged diesel V8 from General Motors) with the American military vehicle M1025A2. Pushing hard for localization, Dongfeng unveiled in 2008 an upgraded Mengshi with a China-made chassis and engine (112kW Dongfeng-Cummins diesel).

The Mengshi has been built with a variety of body styles, coming with a long- or short-nose, single-or double-cab, hard- or soft-top. At the 2012 Beijing motor show, a special edition targeting the general market, Dongfeng HUV, was showcased, showing influences from both the Hummer and Dartz.

As of early 2014 no civilian version of the Mengshi has been officially released.
